Semion Vinokur received the Israeli Film Academy Award in 1999. He has directed and written scripts for more than 60 international documentary films. He has written 11 feature film scripts, produced 7 documentaries and several docudramas.
He presently directs the TV show "The Light of Kabbalah", of more than 130 shows, which has an unprecedented rating on Israeli TV.
His prizes include First prize at the Moscow International documentary film festival, the Carlovy Vary International film, Flagstaff International film festival, “Magnolia” First prizeat the Shanghai International documentary film festival, Finalist award at the New York Documentary Film Festival.
He was chosen from 86 directors by the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s family to shoot a documentary about the late legend, Jonathan Netanyahu.

His emotional, music-filled documentary "What fire can't burn" about a Holocaust survivor was purchased by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel to be shown in all Israeli embassies around the world.
