This film is about the last three days in the life of Yanush Korchak: a doctor, a writer, a teacher and director of the orphanage in the Warsaw ghetto.
He knew that he and his pupils would be sent to the gas chamber, and he fought to the end in order keep this dreadful fate secret from the kids.
Yanush witnessed how the deadly ring is tightening around the ghetto, yet he passionately wanted to live. But despite having a few opportunities to escape, Yanush stayed with the children.
This film is based on the letters, books, and diaries of Yanush Korchak, that reveal to the audience what was hidden inside the soul of the great humanitarian; it allows to understand the inner world of this great man, who, walking together with his kids to the gas chamber, reached one final conclusion. That soul is eternal and death is not.
