Dusseldorf scientific symposium: Wisdom and Science in Dialogue. Germany, March 2006
In March 2006 the German city of Dusseldorf hosted a special meeting of the World Wisdom Council featuring discussions among a number of scientists about the crisis that the world currently faces.Participants witnessed the unusual outcome of general (although not complete) agreement between these scientists.
ARI Films was an official broadcasting partner for the event.
Attempts to understand the crisis established the following points of agreement:
-
Surprisingly our crisis had been foreseen and described millennia ago.
-
Man is seen to be behaving in a bad and irresponsible manner
-
We must question the purpose of life
-
We must ask why the purpose has been concealed from humanity
-
We must ask why people today feel empty
-
We must examine our roots
There was agreement that we must develop a new consciousness:
-
Consciousness does not reside only in the brain
-
All of humanity is really one integrated body
-
We are all connected and inter-dependent
-
Globalization further demonstrates that we are one big village
-
We function as a single whole but do not experience this integration
-
We must develop a consciousness of this global unity
-
We must experience universal love
Rav Michael Laitman explained that our egoistic desires result in only transitory fulfillment and leave a feeling of emptiness. We must fulfill each other to achieve lasting pleasure.
Professor Ervin Laszlo concluded that we must now create the elements of a solution including the Wisdom Council, a television channel, and an internet based university. These new elements will all need new content.
