50- Man’s Sensation of Time
When a person enjoys something, it extends from the Ohr Pnimi [Inner Light], when the light shines within the Kli [vessel]. When a person enjoys the past, he enjoys the Reshimot [recollections/memories] that remained from the Ohr Pnimi. When a person enjoys what illuminates for him, that he is destined to receive in the future, this extends from the Ohr Makif [Surrounding Light].
It follows that those three things speak of a person’s sensation in the present in those three Kelim [vessels] called “past,” “present,” and “future.” The past can exist only if the Ohr Pnimi called “present” precedes it. Afterward there is a “past,” and then we come to enjoy the future.
It follows that the light that shines in the present extends from the Ohr Pnimi, and the light from the past is named after the Reshimot that remained from the past. The light of the “future” is called Makif [surrounding] and is called “light of confidence.” That is, to the extent that his confidence shines for him, to that extent he can enjoy. Also, Ohr Makif is called “the light of the end of correction.”
