“Having guests is greater than welcoming the face of the Shechina [Divinity]” (Shabbat [Sabbath] 127a).
The Shechina is regarded as Malchut, meaning Hochma [wisdom]. But having guests, which is Hassadim [mercies], is greater. In other words, once he has Hochma, he should look for Hassadim or the Hochma will not persist, since Hochma must clothe in a clothing of Hassadim. In corporeality, He gives the Mitzva [commandment] according to the value of the root, since in corporeality, the matters are not as they seem.
It is known that “The whole earth is full of His glory,” but how does saying that he left the Shechina and went outside to welcome guests belong here? Also, it cannot be said that one who has been rewarded with installing the Shechina is exempted from the rest of the Mitzvot [commandments] in the Torah. On the contrary, once he has been rewarded with installing the Shechina, he observes the Torah and Mitzvot in truth, where the whole Torah is the names of the Creator, and according to the above-said, this is simple.
