What is Hell?
Q: Are we in hell?
A: Hell is the sensation of shame – the only sensation that our ego cannot tolerate whatsoever, because it humiliates it and completely revokes it. The sensation of hell places the creature in a lower status than the “One and Only” the Creator, Who exists outside him.
It shows us that we are the lowest and the meanest of entities. The ego cannot tolerate this to such an extent that it is willing to give up its own attribute. That is the reason that hell is felt precisely by those who are called “evil,” meaning those who call themselves evil, because they want to become righteous, they want to justify the actions of the Creator on them.
