What Does The Donkey Want?  

How can the level of man in me cause the level of animate in me to advance?

I need to hide certain things from my nature in order to advance forwards, against nature.  My nature is like a donkey, wanting to: stand still, lie down, have a bag of tasty seeds and a pail of water.

How do I lie to the donkey in order to allow myself to advance? I tell him that I am ashamed, or I awaken envy, as in: "Others have already arrived there and what about me?" Then I warn him about the future: "Afterwards you will suffer."

You need to confuse the donkey and bring him temptation so that he will rise. This temptation can be a carrot that you hold in front of him or suffering that you warn him about beforehand until he actually feels it in the present.

The level of man in me needs to awaken envy in the level of animate in me, awaken passion and honor, awaken all means in order to rise; otherwise, I won't perform any action.
