From Language To Language
Exercise: Rewrite the article that we studied, from the
language of branches to the language of roots.
The article we learned today was written in a very material
manner, relevant to this world: phylacteries, prayer shawl, Torah, nations, Israel,
etc. My suggestion is to rewrite it in a clear manner; that is, using our
expressions: desire and Light. Besides desire and Light, there is nothing. Rewriting everything in the language of roots,
and not in the language of branches, is a good exercise for everyone.

The
Land Of Israel, The Nations, And The Countries Of The Universe
What is the spiritual meaning of the concepts, "the Land of
Israel," "the nations," and "the countries of the universe"? What is the
connection between them?
Those same desires that are corrected
to love of others, that are used for love of others, are called "the Land
of Israel." "The nations" are those desires directed to one
extent or another for the sake of self only. "The countries of the
universe," are desires that we are not able to correct now, but only after
acquiring the Land of Israel, and within its correction. As it is written: "At the end of days,
the Land of Israel will spread to the whole world." This means that we
will begin to use the desires that we didn't touch previously. Thus, they are
called the countries of the universe, countries that are beyond the "Jordon,"
"Lebanon," "Syria," and "Babylon"-the close
desires that are corrected after acquiring the Land of Israel. After these
corrections, we arrive at the correction of the entire world. This is the state
where all the desires are corrected for the sake of bestowal.
