Daily Kabbalah Tip
Advice in the daily Kabbalah lesson is recommended, practical tasks for advancing spiritually
What Are
Investment and Labor?
Investment
and labor are when I try to bring myself closer to the complete picture, in
which I am joined to the system of souls. My yearning to be already now in this
same state is called investment and labor.
The yearnings for this state pass on to actions: "All that you
can do with your own strength, do." The investment and labor are
everything I do in acts, within my environment (Rav, books, group) in order to
reach faith in the same complete picture.
And what is
"All that you can do with your own strength, do" called? We must yearn like small children and ask
ourselves each moment if we are performing acts like children in order to
discover the world. Or maybe we are moving
on smoothly?

Love
What
is love and how does one arrive at the love of the Creator?
One
arrives at the love of the Creator through the love of others. It is not
possible otherwise because love is something that is bought through labor. Everything
is tested according to the goal, "The end of the act is in the beginning
thought." This is the way it is in the family, in the group, in the
society, and also between husband and wife. By way of the mutual goal, one
arrives at love. When you know that you must arrive at the goal with this
person, then you overpower the hate, the rejection, everything. As is written, "Man
and wife and the Shechina (Divinity) between them." Love can't
exist otherwise because of our ego. It is only because of a reason, the third
factor, that commits us and brings us the love.
This
means that there must be Light in each connection; the connection comes only
from the Creator. Thus love is a possession, something bought, like when one
invests. We see this also when people adopt a child, invest in him, and then
loves him even more than if he were their own biological child.
