This World And The World To Come
What is hiding behind the concepts "this world" and "the world to come" that are referred to in The Book of Zohar?
"This world" and "the world to come" are two states, two adjacent degrees of attaining the Upper Light by man, since we are always within the Upper Light. The reality we see is actually a copy of our attributes on the background of the Upper Light.
Each of our states is called "world," a state of hiding, the concealment of the Upper Light, which is concealed from us because of our attributes, and is revealed to us according to the equivalence of our form to His. The difference between the different worlds is measured by the extent of the concealment that we attain.
Therefore, "this world" is the present state of man in which he feels, understands, determines, examines, and learns about the reality before him. The "world to come" is the next state of man, in stages of attainment, which is now concealed from him. To the extent that a man yearns to reach the concealed, he then discovers a new state called "the world to come."
