Daily Kabbalah Definition
Definitions in the daily Kabbalah lesson guide a precise, spiritual approach to terms, & disqualify materialized corporeal definitions
Idolatry,
Making An Idol
What
are "idolatry" and "making an idol"?
"Idolatry"
is taking spiritual qualities and attributing them to physical objects. For
example, thinking that a person has more giving power in his right hand and
more reception power in his left hand, this is genuine idolatry and it is
forbidden to think this way.
To say that there are spiritual qualities in
man's flesh is called "making an idol'; you take a still object and inject
upper spirit into it.

Daily Kabbalah Tip
Advice in the daily Kabbalah lesson is recommended, practical tasks for advancing spiritually
No Looking
Back
Whoever
tries to be included in the group will always be given the opportunity to
advance.
"Not looking
back," like Lot's wife, means not wanting
to be in previous states. Man should not forget yesterday as if it never
happened, but rather, man should learn from yesterday everything that will help
him achieve a better state today. Meaning, "not looking back" is not
wanting to be in yesterday's state, but wanting instead, tomorrow's state.
"Sodom" is when we want to return to the
previous level, which was already proven to us as an unacceptable situation. We
should not want to return to the previous level. If I already decided that the previous states were not qualified for
correction to sanctity, for the purpose, then I have no choice but to move on.
Some
people look back-back to a previous state, want to stay there, where they
prefer to be small. It's against the proper development and we shouldn't think
so. The means to overcome this is the group. When I try to be included in the
group and be in it, I am always receiving my next state from it, no matter what
state the group is at and in what condition I am in. Whoever works in the group
will always have the possibility to move forward and not go back.
