The Whole World Is Your Desire
We don't know what is the Light itself, Atzmuto. We can only talk about the forms it instils within the desire. Besides this, we cannot understand or feel anything.
When I drink water, I don't know what water actually is outside of me. I only know how it is perceived inside my sensations, in my senses. This is the only thing I can talk about, and I can therefore describe the water as being wet, cool, sweet or sour. I can only describe it from the point of view of my own Kli. That is why we only talk about the Kelim and their impressions, the forms and sensations that are present in them.
It seems to me that I go into the shower, open up the faucet and enjoy the water streaming down on me. But the faucet and the water streaming down on me, and the water that's inside me when I drink it, are all my own Kelim.
If we discern the right concepts, then we will be able to read The Book of Zohar correctly.
The Duality Of The Light And The Desire
It is written that everything depends on the desire. On the other hand, everything is created by the Light, and the desire is just an imprint of the Light. So how can this be?
The fact is that sometimes Kabbalah speaks from the Light's point of view, and sometimes from the Kli's. We shouldn't forget that this duality is always present. We never talk about the Light separately from the desire, or about the desire separately from the Light. We talk about the desire which feels the Light as it changes form. The desire calls these forms, "Light."
One form relative to another is called the Light against the Kli. The Kli of the Upper One in relation to the Kli of the lower one is considered the Light. We are talking about qualities that are relative. The Upper One is one that bestows more, and is therefore called Light relative to the lower one. The lower one is the one that receives more and is therefore called the vessel or Kli.
We are accustomed to vessels that are metallic or glass, and which are filled by something. But in spirituality this is completely not the case. The quality of bestowal, which exists inside the vessel, is called Light. The quality of reception is the Kli. But all of this are qualities of the desire. We are always talking about the desire alone, and about its ascents and descents. Its higher forms are called Light, and its lower forms are called Kli. Therefore the Creator (Boreh) is called Bo-Reh (come and see). It's because we see Him inside our own Kli. The form of bestowal that is imprinted inside the Kli is called Light, the Creator.
These are very important concepts because they correct us in the right direction, in order for us to cross the veil and enter the spiritual world by learning to relate to our desires correctly. They are all just different forms of reception and bestowal.
Ascending To Spirituality Out Of The Feeling Of This World
The wisdom of Kabbalah does not refer to our bodies, but only to our desires (fellow-men), with whom you must connect and feel in them the form of bestowal. On the other hand, we are not referring to our corporeal body whatsoever.
We must be in it because we must come out of it every time in order to perform a spiritual action. We must feel that we exist, this feeling of existence is the being, the desire, but it was given to me in order for me to exist in it and come out of it into spirituality.
We must begin to develop the soul, our spiritual Kli (vessel), from our level of existence. Your existence is not but an imagination which we received from above. When we begin to develop the soul, we have a desire called "body," and a form that is dressed in the desire, called "soul." And we must ascribe all those terms to spirituality, and not to corporeality.
When we speak about the bodies we speak about the ten Sefirot, and when we speak about the Light we mean the actions of bestowal in which those Sefirot are - this is the Light that is in them. In other words, we are talking only about the matter and about the form that is dressed in the matter. Whereas what we are feeling right now - is truly an imaginary world. It was given to us in order to feel that we are living, and out of this feeling we will start ascending, and grow until infinity. Until "infinity" means to connect to us all the souls. Have we connected to us the souls to a small extent? This means that we ascended to the "World of Assiya" (Action). We connected to them even more, we ascended to the "World of Yetzira" (Creation). You connected to them to an even larger degree? We ascended to the "World of Beria" (Creation), the "World of Atzilut" (Nobility) and so on.
