Eden Harel: Okay, so I'll start studying a little Kabbalah and
suddenly things will get better at work, and in my love life. Things
will get better.
Rav Michael Laitman, PhD: No, no, no, no, no. Who told you this?
Sorry, but this is way off. Who told you that Kabbalah is meant for
succeeding in work, in the stock market, at home, and in health?
Eden Harel: No, no, it really doesn't matter. I didn't mean that, but...
Rav Laitman: It isn't meant for that at all.
Eden Harel: No, but by one's spiritual development, it improves.
Rav Laitman: So what, I'll be rich?
Eden Harel: No, not rich, but it improves other aspects of life.
Rav Laitman: No, absolutely not. No book promises that. In none
of the holy books-Kabbalah books, in none of them is there a promise
that this life, that in this life you will have a better bank account,
or health, better test results, no. Why would it have to be like that?
What's the connection between these two things?
Eden Harel: Because you said that if you...
Rav Laitman: That's how the wisdom of Kabbalah is sold by those who want to sell it.
Eden Harel: No, no, but...
Rav Laitman: But in fact, in every aspect in this world: in the
family, in health, in succeeding in my profession... The wisdom of
Kabbalah is the revelation of Godliness to a person.
Eden Harel: And by the revelation of Godliness to a person he finds himself in better situations than he was in before.
Rav Laitman: Right, but not because he will suddenly begin to
earn five times more, and to succeed in something, and suddenly he is
healed of something.
Eden Harel: No, but let's say that suddenly 3,000 dollars seems to him like 5,000 dollars.
Rav Laitman: Whether they seem like that not, it's totally different.
Eden: Okay, fine. What I am saying is...
Rav Laitman: It is called that he received a filling,
completeness. Right, that's right. But it isn't that there is some
improvement in your medical test results, that there are tests before
you began studying Kabbalah and after you began studying Kabbalah.
Once again, the wisdom of Kabbalah is not meant to improve our physical
life in this world. The reason a person feels better when he connects
to Godliness is because he is connected to a power supplier that fills
him in a different way.Talks and Interviews
