# Rav Michael Laitman, PhD demonstrates that all of one’s attributes and desires can be used correctly when channeled in the right direction That’s why the science of Kabbalah is called the Science of Reception, the word ‘to receive.’ How to receive correctly in all of one’s desires and absolute and eternal pleasure. A person can achieve that, arriving at it only if the person begins to work correctly with the egoistic and altruistic parts of desires. When one is able to receive and to give, then the person receives such a desire that the pleasure never ceases. One constantly feels oneself eternal, healthy and perfect. And that’s why our attitude to all people and to ourselves needs to be absolutely kind. The only problem is how can we learn to realize our potential correctly. That’s what Kabbalah teaches and that’s why it’s called Chachmat ha Kabbalah, which in Hebrew means the Science of Reception. Description
Transcript
We shouldn't be fighting egoism. We simply need to understand how we can use it properly. Nothing has been created in us for no reason. All of our attributes have been created so that we’ll realized them correctly and to the fullest extent. We don’t need to suppress anything inside of us. You can’t lock yourself up in a monastery and starve yourself for no reason or impose any other restrictions on yourself. Judaism is downright against it and Kabbalah especially.
Moderator: You have taught me of course that Kabbalah…The study of Kabbalah, the wisdom of Kabbalah is open to anyone—Jew, non-Jew, it doesn’t matter.
Yes, it’s open to each and every person.
Moderator: So the essence of Kabbalah has a universalism to it. Does it not?
Yes, it’s absolutely universal. It’s not related to Judaism, Islam, Christianity or anything else. It is above all of it. Kabbalah speaks about the human being, about the way the human being can be elevated into an area of sublime and eternal forces.Talks and Interviews
